A Day by E-bike with Lunch and Wine Tasting at Tenuta San Guido
When you hear the name Bolgheri, two things come to mind: literature lovers think of the verses by Giosuè Carducci — the 19th-century Italian poet and Nobel laureate — probably learned at school. Wine lovers think of Sassicaia, one of Italy’s most acclaimed reds.
On this guided day through the hills around Bolgheri, you ride twenty-five kilometers by e-bike through vineyards, medieval villages, and the famous Cypress Avenue, ending at Tenuta San Guido for lunch and a wine tasting.
TECHNICAL DETAILS
The route runs mainly on paved roads with some sections of white gravel roads typical of these hills. No specialised skills – required or use the other one I put on the other document but this is shorter suggestion. The ride is on e-bikes.
TOTAL DISTANCE: 25 km

You start from Marina di Bibbona, where after meeting the guide there’s a short briefing and e-bike handover. Then you’re in the saddle, heading for the hills.
First stop: Bibbona, a medieval village of stone lanes, staircases, and ancient doorways. From the highest points, on clear days, the view reaches the sea. Yes, photos are mandatory.

Continue along country roads, winding through rows of vines until you reach Bolgheri. This small, ancient village is tucked neatly inside its medieval walls. A charming maze of artisan shops, historic stone, and quiet piazzas. It’s a place where you simply have to stop and linger. You set off along the Viale dei Cipressi: five kilometers of tree-lined straight road that Carducci immortalized in his poem “Davanti San Guido.” The ride ends at Tenuta San Guido, where lunch and a tasting of the estate’s wines await — Sassicaia wine included.
