Discovering the Monteregio DOC in Massa Marittima
On e-bikes, you start from Valpiana and ride along country roads and cypress-lined avenues to Tenuta Morisfarms, one of the wineries most deeply rooted in the Massa Marittima area. The 25 km loop, on tarmac and dirt roads, crosses the estate’s vineyards and the Maremma hills behind them.
Along the way you ride through the vineyards where Monteregio DOC di Massa Marittima is born — the designated origin wine of this part of the Maremma, predominantly Sangiovese. The landscape changes with the seasons: deep green in spring, golden at harvest.
It ends on the terrace at Morisfarms with a light lunch and a tasting of the estate’s Monteregio DOC wines. Here the wine follows the same route you just rode — from the vine rows in the green to the wine glass, sipped while the sun sets the sky on fire.
TECHNICAL DETAILS
The route runs on paved and dirt road sections. Perfect for all levels, no cycling experiences required — suitable for adults and teenagers from 12–14 years up who can handle the distance. The ride is on e-bikes.
