Lago dell’Accesa sits a few kilometers from Massa Marittima, in the Maremma inland. A heart-shaped lake — water rising from a spring on the bottom, so clear you can see the rocks several meters down.
The site was already inhabited in Etruscan times, and the remains of the settlement are still visible on the shore. Your PADI instructor meets you at the lake. After a safety and equipment briefing, you get in the water: if you’ve chosen snorkeling, you’ll use a wetsuit, mask, snorkel, and fins. If you’ve opted for the Discover Scuba experience, the introduction goes further and covers dive technique.
With your instructor at your side, you dive into calm, clear water. Fish, aquatic plants – the lake bed delivers what you expect and something more. The silence underwater is something you’ve never experienced before. You won’t find silence like this above the surface.
After the dive, you debrief with your instructor — sharing impressions on the experience. If you choose the Discover Scuba option, you receive a PADI participation certificate, valid for continuing at any dive center or PADI school.
