Gulf of Talamone and the Maremma Coast
In the Gulf of Talamone, where the water deepens, there’s a place few people expect: a world of submerged sculptures, caves, and marine life undisturbed along the coast stretching from Talamone to Cala di Forno.
And it’s only by diving into this place that you discover them.
A World to Discover
With your instructor at your side, you dive into calm, clear water to explore a new world. Fish swimming among the rocks, aquatic plants, and a sensation of silence and weightlessness.
After the dive, you debrief with your instructor — sharing what you saw, what you felt, what surprised you.
You also receive a PADI participation certificate, which you can present at any dive center or PADI school to continue your journey into diving.

The starting point is the port of Marina di Grosseto, where you board the boat to reach the snorkeling and dive sites. During the ride along the coast, you pass the beaches and cliffs of the Parco della Maremma, medieval watchtowers, and the Rocca di Talamone.
Once the boat is anchored, the diving instructors get ready to guide you. After a brief but thorough safety and equipment briefing, your snorkeling experience begins: wetsuit, mask, snorkel, and fins. If you’ve chosen the Discover Scuba option, you’ll get a further briefing on equipment and dive technique.
And then you’re in.
An underwater world waiting to be explored — from the surface or diving into the shallow seabed, with your instructor always at your side.
This is where you find the Casa Dei Pesci (“House of Fish”) — a marine conservation project where dozens of artworks have become habitat for many sea species.
In these waters you watch fish moving among the sculptures — a place where nature and art coexist. Every statue has a story, and your instructor will share the details and curiosities behind each underwater artwork.
The other site is along the coast from Talamone to Cala di Forno. The clear water lets you see marine life up close: fish, starfish, and — with a little luck — sea turtles making their way through the waves toward the beach. The coast is rich with caves, and some can be safely entered to explore the above-water sections.
